
The purpose of the book is to help managers develop a simple system of
leadership development within their
departments. By adding simple suggestions to their culture, this fast
and easy approach will help
organizations and supervisors develop leaders. The book is designed in
such a way that the system of
leadership development will match the department's goals and objectives
for change and improvement. If a
supervisor creates a “culture of leadership
development” within their department, division, or unit,
individuals
will learn, grow, and develop each and every day—all while
doing their job! The supervisor need not be an
expert trainer, facilitator, or educator. However, they do need to set
up a “system for development” as outlined
in this book amongst their co-workers—and learn to think
differently about how to lead them.
